Set at the edge of the picturesque Sussex hamlet of the same name, Stopham Vineyard has one of the finest sites in the south of England. The stony-sand soils and south-facing elevation (affording a dramatic view of The South Downs) are perfect for quality winemaking. Simon Woodhead, a Formula One technician turned winemaker, has thrown the dice boldly on this project, placing all his bets on the (hitherto-unknown in England) Pinot Blanc and Pinot Gris varieties; so far with impressive results.
